LEGISLATIVE ASPECTS OF FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES OF NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

Abstract

Introduction. Non-profit organizations play a significant role in the socio-economic development of civil society, requiring a special regulatory approach to their financial and economic activities aimed at transparency, resource efficiency, and fulfilling their social functions. The рurpose of the article is the analysis of the legislative aspects of the financial and economic activities of non-profit organizations, the identification of key regulatory acts that govern the activities of such organizations, and the need for their improvement. Methods. The methodology used in the article includes an analysis of scientific literature and case studies on individual aspects of the activities of non-profit organizations in Ukraine, an analysis of statistical data, and a comparative analysis of legislative acts regulating the activities of domestic non-profit organizations. Results. The article analyzes key legislative aspects of the financial and economic activities of non-profit organizations in Ukraine. The significant role these organizations play in the socio-economic development of civil society is considered, along with the specifics of their operations, which focus primarily on fulfilling social functions rather than generating profit. The need for regulating financial processes in non-profit organizations to ensure transparency, efficient resource use, and the proper execution of their social missions is highlighted. The article also addresses the legislative framework that governs the activities of non-profits, stressing its need to evolve in response to changes in both the economic and social environments. The main regulatory documents that define and control the financial and economic activities of non-profit organizations are analyzed. These include laws aimed at ensuring the performance of social functions, protecting the interests of all participants, and providing equal opportunities for the development of non-profits and the attraction of additional resources for socially important projects. Attention is given to the necessity of implementing effective mechanisms to prevent the misuse of resources and ensure their correct and efficient distribution. Key elements of the legislative framework, such as the Civil Code and the Tax Code, are discussed, as well as other sector-specific legislative acts. The importance of unified standards and the coherence of legal provisions regulating non-profit activities is also underscored, contributing to proper legal regulation. The article highlights the crucial role of statutory documents in legitimizing non-profit organizations, ensuring their compliance with the law, and outlining their goals, operational mechanisms, and rules, which form the foundation for their effective functioning. Conclusion. Тhe development and adherence to clear, transparent norms will enable non-profit organizations to successfully achieve their social goals, integrate into civil society, and establish a legal basis for their sustainable development in an ever-changing environment.
