MARITIME INDUSTRY MANAGEMENT: GOVERNMENT REGULATION AND DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES

Abstract

Introduction. The maritime industry is one of the most important components of the world economy. It includes cargo and passenger transportation, seaports, shipbuilding and repair, as well as other related areas. Management in the maritime industry is a complex and multifaceted process that requires a clear strategy to ensure efficiency and competitiveness. Therefore, this study examines the issues of state regulation and the main management strategies in the maritime industry, their features and impact on the overall development of the sector. The purpose of the study is to highlight issues of state regulation of the maritime industry, identify the main strategies used in modern conditions, their effectiveness and impact on the overall development of the maritime services sector, and highlight what approaches help maritime companies adapt to new challenges and achieve high results in their activities. Methods. In the process of conducting the research, the following methods were used: induction and deduction, comparison, synthesis and analysis. Results. Specific features inherent in the maritime industry are identified. Strategic management models are considered that help maritime companies adapt to changing conditions and achieve their goals. Problems that may affect the effectiveness of the maritime industry are identified and characterized. The main management strategies for seaports and key aspects of shipping management are identified. It is proven that the effective functioning of the maritime industry is one of the key factors affecting the stability of public finances. The effectiveness of public investments in the maritime industry is a key factor affecting the pace of port reform and their competitiveness. Conclusion. The unique characteristics of the maritime sector, such as the complexity and dynamics of operations, require adapted methods and models of strategic management. The maritime industry market is dominated by large corporations that seek to optimize processes and introduce new technologies to increase efficiency and sustainability. Financing the maritime industry of Ukraine remains one of the most important issues for ensuring its sustainable development. Despite significant challenges, there are certain prospects for attracting financing and revitalizing the maritime industry. This area is proposed as a priority for further research.
