IMPACT AND CONSEQUENCES OF CHANGES IN MACROECONOMIC INDICATORS ON THE STATE AND DEVELOPMENT TRENDS OF THE DOMESTIC LABOUR MARKET

Introduction. The study addresses the urgent problem of how macroeconomic indicators influence the current state and future development trends of the domestic labor market in Ukraine. This issue has become particularly relevant in light of prolonged economic instability, intensified by the consequences of full-scale military aggression. Purpose. The purpose of the research is to identify the key macroeconomic variables that affect the labor market and to assess the mechanisms and channels through which they influence employment levels, wage dynamics, and labor force participation in Ukraine, both under martial law and during the post-war recovery period. Methods. The study is based on the analysis of official statistical data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the World Bank. A combination of methods was used, including comparative analysis, correlation analysis, and economic modeling. These methods enabled a structured examination of macroeconomic indicators such as GDP, inflation rate, NBU discount rate, labor productivity, public debt, exchange rate fluctuations, and the unemployment rate. Results. The study shows that macroeconomic instability negatively affects employment and wage dynamics. War-related disruptions have worsened labor shortages and skill mismatches, emphasizing the need for targeted retraining programs. Conclusion. The findings indicate that macroeconomic stabilization, infrastructure restoration, and investment in human capital are critical for revitalizing the Ukrainian labor market. The author recommends the implementation of adaptive labor policies focused on income stabilization, social protection, reskilling of workers, and reintegration of returning migrants. These measures will contribute to the economic recovery and enhance the resilience of the labor market to future shocks. The results of the study can be practically applied in policy development by public authorities, international partners, and academic institutions working in the fields of labor economics and socio-economic development.
