Abstract

Introduction. Decision-making in business project management is a crucial factor determining the success of projects, as it ensures the effective use of resources, adherence to deadlines, and achievement of strategic objectives. The growing complexity of the business environment, digital transformation, and uncertainty of external factors make managerial decisions increasingly challenging, requiring an integration of analytical, behavioral, and digital approaches. The study emphasizes the importance of a systematic and adaptive decision-making process that accounts for risk, limited information, and stakeholder involvement. Purpose. The purpose of the study is to analyze and systematize theoretical approaches, methods, and key factors influencing the effectiveness of managerial decisions in business project management and to develop recommendations for improving their quality. Methods. The research applies general scientific and special methods, including system analysis, comparison, synthesis, modeling, and case studies. Analytical and behavioral approaches are used to identify patterns of decision-making under uncertainty, while digital and statistical tools support the evaluation of project alternatives. Results. The article generalizes theoretical foundations and presents a structured model of the decision-making process in project management, covering stages from problem identification to evaluation of results. The authors classify decisions into strategic, tactical, and operational, highlighting their specific features within project environments. The findings reveal that combining formal analytical and intuitive methods enhances flexibility, while digital instruments and stakeholder participation significantly improve decision quality and project outcomes. Conclusion. Effective decision-making in project management requires an integrated approach based on structured analysis, digital support, and continuous learning from results. The study concludes that the synergy of analytical methods, professional intuition, and stakeholder collaboration increases project success rates, minimizes risks, and ensures adaptability in a dynamic business environment. The proposed recommendations can be applied in managerial practice and educational programs on project management.
