ASSESSMENT OF THE PUBLIC FINANCING IMPACTOF HIGHER EDUCATION ON THE COUNTRY ECONOMIC GROWTH

The article provides an overview of the scientific works on the study of the public financing impact of higher education on the country economic growth. Based on empirical data using the method of correlation-regression analysis, an assessment of the public financing impact of higher education on the country economic grow this carried out on the example of European countries, an increase in public financing on higher education hardly contributes to the country's economic growth. In the context of the further trends implementation to reduce public financing on higher education, it is proposed to introduce financial autonomy of universities as a tool for adaptation to changing external conditions, and the directions of improving the higher education quality through changes in public financing in Ukraine are investigated.
